Fuel with Alcohol or Gasoline?

The bi-fuel car has come to have the freedom to choose which fuel we will use or try to economize. But as soon as we get to the fuel station we have the following question: Fill with alcohol or gasoline?

We can stock up on alcohol because it is cheaper or fuel with gas because the consumption of the car will be lower. But are we really going out in profit? Are we really saving money?

When we are going to make this choice, we must take into account that the autonomy of the vehicle with alcohol engine is, on average, 30% lower than that of the vehicle with a gasoline engine, that is, the percentage reflects the lower alcohol yield, where makes the vehicle run fewer miles than gasoline with a same volume of fuel.

Example:

If at the gas station the price per liter of alcohol is R $ 1,499 and the value of gasoline R $ 2.259 is more advantageous to supply the vehicle with alcohol since it is 33% cheaper than gasoline.

So the tip always takes into account the value of the fuel, not supply the flex vehicle with alcohol whenever the price of the litter exceeds 70% of the value of gasoline. The percentage reflects the lower alcohol yield, which makes the vehicle run fewer kilometers than gasoline with the same volume of fuel. Source: automotiveone.us
